This project has compiled socioenvironmental data on land use change, deforestation, and fires, leveraging both historical records and future projections. Its overarching goal is to support decision-making processes at various planning levels to prevent and mitigate degradation in the Amazon basin, thereby reducing threats to its biodiversity and enhancing the quality of life for its residents. The project’s holistic approach emphasizes the integration of collective rights of indigenous peoples with the appreciation and protection of biodiversity and protected natural areas.
