Conservation and management initiatives are crucial for safeguarding Amazonian wetlands against land use changes, river damming, pollution, and the impacts of climate change. This project aims to improve wetland mapping and deepen understanding of human, economic, and environmental risks. These insights will inform conservation policies and enhance ecosystem management through targeted communication, dialogue, and mobilization strategies. Additionally, the project seeks to advance the application of the thirty-five Ramsar sites in the Amazon basin and expand their coverage to critical areas.
